The first story involves Dr Mehmet Oz Professor of Cardiac Surgery at Columbia University and the Founder of New York Presbyterian Hospital's Complimentary Medicine Program. Dr. Oz speaks about his view of the future of western medicine incorporating Reiki and other forms of energy healing into patient's care to provide a more holistic and comprehensive treatment protocol.

The story is of a teenage diver who was referred to the center's Reiki practitioner, Carolyn Coleridge for Reiki treatments to assist with her pain management.
